Meeting Minutes & Updates

Upcoming Planning Group Meeting Schedule

Last Meeting: The Region H Regional Water Planning Group (RWPG) met on December 5,2012 in Conroe. Highlights include:

  • The group approved a policy for committing local contributions towards projects in the region. These are grant funds remaining in the RWPGs account from solicitations at the beginning of the planning process (1998).
  • The group approved contributing $50,000 to the Texas Water Foundation (TWF) Conservation Study in the region. Vice Chair Ron Neighbors requested that TWF establish an “investor” steering committee to receive updates and provide input.
  • The group approved submitting a letter to the USACE during the draft EIS comment period in support of the Luce Bayou IBT being reviewed.  The letter will specifically request that the USACE stick to the schedule they’ve developed for issuing the permit.
  • Draft projections were presented to the RWPG for the 5-County regulated area of the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District.
