Meeting Minutes & Updates

Upcoming Planning Group Meeting Schedule

Last Meeting: The Brazos (Region G) Regional Water Planning Group (RWPG) met on April 17, 2013 in Waco. Highlights include:

  • Motion was adopted to eliminate term limits for members; to change mandatory meetings for the RWPG to only one per year; to allow voice votes on action items if unanimous, roll call votes if not; and changing rule references in by-laws to reflect new rule numbers.
  • (Given the changes to the term limits in the bylaws) Motion was adopted retaining two expired (Dec. 2012) members for Ag & Co. representation, who were still serving (no appointments had been made). Dale Spurgin, Ag rep. and Mike Sutherland , Co. rep.
  • Motion was adopted re-electing Chairman Wayne Wilson and Vice-Chair Gail Peek and retaining the current Executive Committee (Wayne Wilson, Gail Peek, Phil Ford, David Blackburn and Mike McGuire).
  • Motion was adopted directing consultant to make a list of 30 WUGs with lowest gpcd and contact the WUG to confirm correctness of the numbers for future presentation to the RWPG. Also, HDR is to look at a 3 year average for increased use in WUGs to use as basis of discussion on whether 2011 as dry year shows the highest water use and may not appropriately represent dry year use.
  • Motion was adopted to use HDR recommendations on groundwater availability for other aquifers in the region where there is no MAG or it is not covered by GAM (perched or local aquifers) in Shackleford, Stephens, Throckmorton, Williamson and Young Counties.
