Texas Water Development Board approves a $369,767 loan to the City of Smyer to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 31, 2013) - The City of Smyer intends to use the funds to install a water adsorption treatment system. In addition, it will replace approximately 4,900 linear feet of a water main to reduce water loss, upgrade the existing pump station with NEMA Premium efficiency motors and SCADA, construct a new pump station building and make other miscellaneous improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
