Texas Water Development Board approves a $3,500,000 loan to the City of Alpine to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 31, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $3,500,000 to the City of Alpine (Brewster County) from the TWDB Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
The City of Alpine intends to use the funds to complete a wastewater collection system improvement project.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
