Texas Water Development Board approves $204,000 in financial assistance to the City of Alpine to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (September 20, 2012) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution the amount of $204,000 to the City of Alpine (Brewster County) consisting of a grant in the amount of $102,000 and $102,000 in a loan from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to finance wastewater system improvements.
The City of Alpine intends to use the funds to complete design activities for a wastewater collection system improvement project.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
