News Release | Austin - April 19, 2012 The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $137,114,896 as follows:

- $1,700,000 to the City of McAllen (Hidalgo County), consisting of a loan in the amount of $1,190,000 and $510,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning and design costs for wastewater system improvements.
- $3,930,000 to the City of Springtown (Parker County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
- $3,820,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Mount Vernon (Franklin County) to finance wastewater system improvements.
- $600,000 to the City of Ranger (Eastland County), consisting of a loan in the amount of $300,000 and $300,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning and design costs for wastewater system improvements.
- $48,750,000 to the City of Laredo (Webb County), from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
- $48,750,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Houston (Harris County) to finance the construction of wastewater system improvements.
- $2,129,896, to the Hidalgo County Municipal Utility District No. 1 (Hidalgo County), consisting of a $1,500,000 loan and $629,896 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance the construction of wastewater system improvements.
- $150,000 to the City of Alba (Wood County), consisting of a loan in the amount of $105,000 and $45,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning, acquisition and design costs for wastewater system improvements.
- $25,345,000, to the City of Brownsville (Cameron County), consisting of a $24,505,000 grant and a loan of $840,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program.
- $1,495,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Eldorado (Schleicher County) to finance water system improvements.
- $445,000 to the City of San Juan (Hidalgo County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning and design costs for wastewater system improvements.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources. TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
