News Release | Austin - September 22, 2011 The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $63,820,000 as follows:

- $4,430,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Caddo Mills (Hunt County) to finance wastewater system improvements;
- $49,900,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Houston (Harris County) to finance wastewater system improvements;
- $1,375,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Burnet (Burnet County) to finance water system improvements;
- $82,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board (El Paso County) to finance planning costs to provide first-time water service;
- $90,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board (El Paso County) to finance planning costs to provide first-time water service;
- $2,493,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the City of Portland (San Patricio County) to finance construction costs to provide first-time water service;
- $2,725,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 8 (Montgomery County) to finance water system improvements;
- $2,725,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 9 (Montgomery County) to finance water system improvements.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources. TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
