News Release | Austin - March 17, 2011 Texas Water Development Board approves financing for water related projects in Texas communities

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $21,390,000 as follows:
- $9,595,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Communities Program to the City of Alton (Hidalgo County) to finance wastewater system improvements;
- $11,650,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Community Program to the Eastland County Water Supply District (Eastland County) to finance water system improvements; and,
- $145,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the City of Groveton (Trinity County) to finance acquisition and design costs for a water system improvement project.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources. TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
