News Release | Austin - January 20, 2010 Texas Water Development Board approves financing for water related projects in Texas communities

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $10,532,750 as follows:
- $2,680,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) for sate water plan projects, $995,000 from EDAP for rural state water plan projects and $1,000,000 from the Water Infrastructure Fund-Rural Program to the City of Eden (Concho County) to finance a water supply project;
- $57,750 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program Research and Planning Fund to the Beaver Creek Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Burleson County) to prepare a water facility plan; and,
- $5,800,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Community Program to the Stephens Regional Special Utility District (Stephens County) to finance water system improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources. TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
