Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer (northern portion)Groundwater Availability Model (GAM)
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) contracted with Intera, Inc. (who teamed with Parsons Engineering Science, Inc., Waterstone Environmental Hydrology and Engineering, Inc., and several individual experts) to develop a model of the northern portion of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer in Texas. A final report and model were delivered in 2003.
This GAM has been superseeded by the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers GAMs, which includes the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. However, model users interested in details about the development of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer GAMs should still refer to the GAM report listed below.
Model Report
"Groundwater Availability Model for the Northern Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer."
Policy question and TWDB response from stakeholder review of draft report.
Model Files
The Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer GAMs (all three portions) have been incorporated into the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers GAMs. See the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers GAMs page for model files.
Model Grid
Model grid cells are geographically assigned to counties, groundwater conservation districts, river basins, groundwater management areas, and regional water planning areas within the model study area using a centroid based approach. The model grid is available in ESRI® shapefile format and comma-delimited text file.
See the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers GAMs page for the model grid.
Aquifer Data
