Submitted Driller's Reports Database Download

The Submitted Driller's Reports Database (SDRDB) is populated from the online Texas Well Report Submission and Retrieval System which is a cooperative Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) application that registered water-well drillers use to submit their required reports. This system was started 2/5/01 and is optional for the drillers to use. Reports submitted by mail are entered by TDLR and TWDB staff using the Texas Well Report Submission and Retrieval System.  Well reports submitted before 2/5/01 are available for access at the TCEQ Records Services Department (512-239-0900) or online at http://www.tceq.texas.gov/gis/waterwellview.html. At some time in the future, it will be required for registered drillers to file their reports through this online system.

Be aware that the locations of the wells in this database are not verified by State staff and may be inaccurate.

SDRDB well locations (shapefile)

Beginning in September 2014, the old MS Access download of the SDRDB is no longer available. The new format is in MS Excel and contains a worksheet for the drill (well) reports and a worksheet for the plug reports. The drill reports sheet contains a field called "Report Link". When this field is clicked and the user is connected to the Internet, the full well report is displayed. The headers in both worksheets allow for filtering so the data are easily sorted.

Please contact the Groundwater Data Team with questions regarding this new format, or any groundwater data related questions.
